Oak Lane & Prices Drive Trick-or-Treat Safety Plan

To ensure a safe and fun Halloween for everyone, we are implementing a controlled, well-lit trick-or-treat zone along Oak Lane and Prices Drive. This plan is designed to protect pedestrians while smoothly maintaining essential access for residents and emergency responders.

Here is what you need to know about traffic, access, and safety for the evening:

Traffic & Road Changes

To manage vehicle flow and protect trick-or-treaters, temporary traffic patterns will be in effect:

  • One-Way Traffic: Oak Lane will operate strictly as a one-way street, with traffic flowing from the CVS end toward First Keystone Community Bank.
  • Advance Signage: Temporary signs will be posted well ahead of the trick-or-treat zone to alert drivers to road closures, the one-way pattern, reduced speeds, and heavy pedestrian activity.

Intersection Access

We are limiting through-traffic to keep the streets safe for families walking the neighborhood.

  • Closed Intersections: Barricades will completely block access to Oak Lane at Maple, Old Orchard, Spruce, Locust, and Naomi.
  • Open (But Controlled) Intersections: Vehicle access will remain open, but heavily monitored by staff, at East Dogwood, West Dogwood, White Oak, and Prices Drive.

Visibility & Lighting

To keep the route bright and safe after dark, portable light towers will be stationed at five key intersections:

  • Oak Lane & Old Orchard
  • Oak Lane & Dogwood
  • Oak Lane & Naomi
  • Oak Lane & Prices Drive
  • Prices Drive & Prices Drive Extension

Safety Personnel

Major entrance and exit points, as well as all open intersections, will be heavily staffed. To ensure they are easily seen and can communicate quickly, all safety personnel will be equipped with high-visibility clothing, flashlights or traffic wands, and reliable two-way radios.

Resident & Emergency Access

A clear, unobstructed route will be strictly maintained throughout the event to ensure that police, fire, EMS, and local residents can access the neighborhood safely and without delay at all times.
